Alzheimer's has affected our family in a major way. The monarch of our family; momma/grand-ma (Irene) was the 1st of our family to be diagnosed with this debilitating neurodegenerative disease which soon affected our lovely sister/momma (Nell). Our family has gone through a variety of emotions such as anger, fear, frustration, anxiety, sadness, and grief as we witnessed the cognitive changes that impacted the lives of our beloved. We will forever honor their bravery and their ability to smile through the struggles and challenges that they faced and endured. We know that their faith allowed them the strength to be strong and stand tall despite the battle. They were true soldiers that earned their crowns with dignity and grace.
This year our family and friends will participate in the Alzheimer's walk that will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC. We will walk to honor the memory of our beloved and walk to support our beautiful sister/auntie (Virginia) who has been diagnosed with Dementia and continues to fight the battle daily.
We come with love in our hearts and with a zeal to help in any kind of way to find treatments that will improve the quality of life for anyone affected by Alzheimer's. We do not wish this disease upon any person or family and ask all to help us in this fight. Continuation of research will help assist in future interventions and treatments for generations to come.

Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
