We walk to honor Dorothy Luchetti; mother, grandmother to not only her own grandbabies but every baby she met, wife, friend, neighbor, community coffee shop, the best non-Italian-Italian chef, and lover of her porch and pastries. We walk for our futures, especially with a family full of women, where 2/3 of all diagnosed are female. We walk for other unpaid caregivers like us. We walk for the younger-onset patients and families. We walk for lifetime memories, for preserving our most precious asset, our mind. We walk for brain health so no other person will experience the unique hardship of this disease. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Alzheimers is the most expensive disease in America with the least amount of support in research and training. Less than half of those living with the disease are even diagnosed.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
