Many of you may know that I lost my Mom to dementia last year during the beginning of the pandemic. Because of that and many other reasons I have made it one of my missions in life to help the Alzheimer's Association - Delaware Valley Chapter to help raise dollars so the association can deliver critical care and support services while advancing research toward treatment, prevention and, ultimately a cure.
On Saturday, September 25, 2021, I, along with my immediate family (my Mom's son, her son-in-law, and 4 grandchildren) will participate in the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Rehoboth Beach, DE. I welcome you all to join us AND/OR donate to this cause!
- Did you know there are 19,000 people aged 65 and older living with Alzheimer's in Delaware?*
- Did you know there are 46,000 family caregivers that bear the burden of this disease in Delaware?*
- Did you know according to the Alzheimer's Association, a person with Alzheimer's lives 4 to 8 years after diagnosis? However, some people live with dementia for 20 years. (July 2, 2020)
