This will be the 17th year my family will walk in support of Alzheimer. The first two years, Richie walked with us or was pushed in a wheelchair-- now we walk in his memory. As we walk, we tell some stories about Granddad so the Grandchildren can get to know what he was like, since the majority of them were either not yet born, or too young to really remember him. I continue to volunteer at the Alzheimer Support Group in Arden Court to help newly diagnosed families learn about their journey. We need all the support we can muster in order to raise funds to conquer this disease. Share the cost of a movie night out, or an early bird special to help make a difference. Every little bit helps!!! You are welcome to grab a friend or walk alone along with us. This year we start at Dravo Plaza near Timothy's restaurant on the Wilmington Riverfront.
I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the 2019 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
