I know a cure is within reach.!
I walk on Behalf of Edith Dickman and Alma Larson. Both Edith, my grandmother, and Alma, my great grandmother, suffered from Alzheimer's/Dementia. I also walk for all members in my extended family who live or lived with Alzheimer's. I also walk in memory of my mother Carol Tragni who devoted her career to geriatric mental health. This year, i walk also on behalf of Jean Heins who struggled with dementia prior to her passing in 2020.
This year will mark the 12th Walk to End Alzheimer's that I have participated in. This year will be the 5th time i walk as a guide dog team walking with my guide Bali. I have walked with many different groups, but the focus is always the same. To raise awareness and to support this cause.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you
