Judi has Alzheimer's and has been living in Memory Care at Marquis Autumn Hills since October 2019.
Since the coronavirus lockdown started, Judi and I have been visiting three times a week using FaceTime. Judi enjoys singing and our visits are mostly singing together with a little dialog. Each visit lasts from 30 to 75 minutes (without singing 10 minutes would be difficult). During the first week of May, I created a short video of Judi and I meeting together in song. There are a few 30-second song segments with some dialog interspersed. (To play the video click here)
Judi and I sang with the Alzheimer's Association Sing Here Now Choir for 7 years. At the Spring 2018 Concert, we sang "I've Grown Accustomed to Your Face". We have been married for 55 years and we have indeed "Grown Accustomed to Your (each other's) Face". (To play the video click here)
Everyone has a relative and/or friend with Alzheimer's. We need a cure for this terrible disease. You can help by joining our team. Even if you can't walk with us, you can help by making a donation. Can we count on you?
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's.
