Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! The year 2020 marks my 8th year fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association. In July, I completed year one in my role as Board Chair for the ALZ Association Oklahoma Chapter.
Public Health Center of Excellence
The Alzheimer’s Association has been selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as the BOLD Public Health Center of Excellence (PHCOE) on Dementia Risk Reduction. The Alzheimer’s Association will lead a national effort to develop and disseminate public health strategies and resources to address cognitive decline and dementia risk reduction.
Our local board serves as champions for the Association within our home state. We rally people around getting involved in the mission to promote brain health, and I’m all in!
Giving During a Crisis
I’m following the example of my mentors who taught me there is great value and good that comes about if you choose to lean into volunteer work during the most challenging times in your life.
I’m pushing forward even during the COVID-19 pandemic to ask that you give what you can to the Walk. Our Nation’s circumstances stemming from the pandemic are incredibly hard on those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Supporting them now is critical. They need us.
Families like Mine Need Your Support
We have suffered the loss of loved ones to Alzheimer’s, and my Pop-Pop now lives with it. His seven children, my mom included, are dedicated to his care and wellbeing. Seeing the photos of window visits at his senior living community both warms my heart and breaks it. Zoom calls help, but ending this disease is the only real answer.
Here’s Your Opportunity
Join the movement to #endalz. Please donate today by clicking the orange “DONATE” button on this page. If you are already engaged, thank you. If you give elsewhere, thank you. If you read this story to the very end, thank you!
To inspire team fundraising, Senior Star gifts Walk dollars to the Alzheimer’s Association in every market that we serve.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
