My wife, Laura, started showing signs of dementia more than 17 years ago. Since then, our three kids have graduated from college and found their spouses. We now have five granddaughters ages two to six. Laura has been in a wonderful Christian based nursing facility for more than three years. Turning only 72 this month, she had been very mobile until the past few months. This past year has been a big downturn for her, partly due to the lock down of the nursing home. Even though she understands very little now, I am thankful that she still knows me and we try to "talk" daily on the phone. Alzheimer's has been a very tough disease for our family to deal with but God has given us the grace, strength, and patience to do so. I am also thankful for the wonderful caregivers and the Christians who have been praying for us. God is good! Your donations to help find a cure for this terrible disease are appreciated.
This is the third year of having our team "The Forgotten Notes." I was so pleased with the number of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and former students who helped our team raise $10,000 the first year and almost $5000 last year. Because of Covid-19, this years walk is anywhere you want to walk. I would love to have anyone join our team and/or donate to help us find a cure for this disease.
