What a year and a half it has been! Covid -19 has changed or effected just about everyone's life in one way or another.
Audrey and I are no different. I truly believe that Audrey's Alzheimer's has progressed as a result of the isolation this pandemic has caused. Audrey no longer cooks, shops, drives, and most recently is having a difficult time getting dressed. Audrey now attends a Dementia Day Center three times a week at Eliza Jennings in Cleveland. Audrey really enjoys the companionship and the activities they provide. Through it all, Audrey has remained so happy. She could have been depressed or even violent. Audrey has remained a happy person throughout this whole experience. For this I am grateful!
It's hard to believe that Audrey has been fighting this terrible disease for over ten years . With your help, we have been able to raise over to $41,000 to help find a cure. But the fight is not over. Audrey and I will continue to help raise awareness and funds until someone holds a white flower at a walk representing the first cured person.
That's why Audrey and I are joining the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's at the Crushers Stadium in Avon, Ohio, on Saturday, September 18th, 2021. This year the walk may look a little different, but the goal is the same, to help bring awareness and funds to support Alzheimer's care, support and research. Together, we can become an unstoppable force against this devastating disease.
Help us reach our goal by making a donation on our fundraising page. Our Team is called Audrey's Army. We hope to make a big contribution in the fight against Alzheimer's by surpassing last year's total of over $7,200.00. Audrey and I would be so grateful if you would sponsor Audrey's Army. Your support will help the Alzheimer's Association to advance critical research for all those affected by this devastating disease. We are walking to make a difference for the future.
We all have a reason to end Alzheimer's. What's yours? Please visit our fundraising Web page to sign up and donate today.
Love and God Bless,
Dave and Audrey Rickey
