Alzheimer’s disease is relentless. So are we.
As many of you know, my mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in 2014. She walked this path with strength and grace. Her battle with this disease ended on January 10, 2021, just two weeks before her 67th birthday. Finding treatments and ultimately a cure for Alzheimer's is so important to us. I do not wish this journey on anyone. To watch your loved one slip away slowly was an absolute nightmare. We are forever grateful for the love and support from all of our friends and family over the last several years. Throughout the different stages of the disease, the Alzheimer's Association has been there to support our family. We have called the 24 hour helpline when we had no where else to turn, had family care consultations with social workers at the Alzheimer's Association as we worked on finding the best care for my mom, and participated in support groups where we found comfort and advice from people who were living or had lived through a similar journey to the one we were on. Please feel free to join our team and walk in memory of my mom. Even if you cannot walk with us in person, you can still be a part of our team and walk with us virtually wherever you are! It means so much!
