As the Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association's Greater NJ Chapter, I speak with families every day who are struggling with the impacts of dementia. It's my mission and my passion to help them on their journey, and to connect them with support services. How could I not have known that my own uncle was battling dementia? How was I not aware that his family could have used my support? My Uncle Russ passed away this year, after a long struggle with dementia. His disease was exacerbated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please pick up the phone and call your loved ones. Ask those difficult and sometimes awkward questions. Tell them about our free 1-800-272-3900 helpline. Let them know that it's okay to ask for help.
Thank you for whatever you can donate. Our family's $500 donation kicks off our 2021 fundraising efforts - in honor of my very sweet and musical Uncle Russ!
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
