Dear Family & Friends,
As you know, for many years Arlene and I have asked for your support in the fight against Alzheimer’s, the disease that slowly destroys the beautiful minds of our loved ones. In all our previous letters, we have always said Alzheimer’s knows no boundaries: rich, poor, black, white, etc. Yet knowing this still does not prepare you when it reaches out to someone you love; Arlene was recently diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
Even after spending 15 years volunteering and supporting the Alzheimer’s association, it does not prepare you for the changes that begin to take place: the confusion when performing previously simple tasks, difficulty remember the day of the week, the month of the year and many other small details.
When the stress of care giving starts to take over, I know I will turn to the association for support and answers on how to care for Arlene and to get through the rough days that lie ahead. This is just one of the MANY ways they help families afflicted with the horrible disease.
Again please support us and the many others with this disease and the many more to follow. We need your support to END ALZHEIMER’S.
