Dear Family and Friends:
As you know, once a year I ask that you consider making a donation to support me in my Walk to End Alzheimer's. I will be walking with Samuel and Henry again this year. As you know, I work at the Washington University in Saint Louis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (Knight ADRC) and volunteer weekly for the Alzheimer's Association. I also co-facilitate a support group every month for caregiving partners for people who have an Alzheimer's or related diagnosis. In my particular group, many of these people's partners are in their 50s and 60s and the future they planned has been completely upended. It is a terrible disease and I am certain that many of you know this first hand.
By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for considering supporting me in this walk.
I hope you are all having a great end to your summer.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
