I am once again committed and focused in helping bring awareness to this devastating disease. I am a volunteer on the St Charles County walk committee and I am the Captain for the St Charles Visiting Angels team. I do this in part because of the desire I have to find a cure! I have had several relatives who had lived with this disease and since passed away. My Aunt Millie Henkel, my Uncle Don Wallace, and my children's Great Grandma 'Mammaw Manning'. I also currently work with families who have loved ones that need care, and are all living through this nightmare of Alzheimer's, not feeling hopeful that they will ever recover and realizing this diagnosis is a death sentence. A cure is needed! My hope is to meet the first survivor one day SOON! Until such time, I will continue this fight and will fundraise for the dollars that are needed to fund the research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. There is no amount that is too little...every cent matters! I deeply "Thank you" for your generosity!
Thank you for joining our movement ! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with each and everyone of us! #ENDALZ#walkingtoendalzheimers
