Family and Friends,
While the 2020 St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer's isn't happening until October, I wanted to start my official fundraising July 26th; which is Mom's birthday.
Why do I walk? My Mom. She was diagnosed I think in 2009 or 2010. At first she would forget things I had told her or she couldn't find something. I remember her telling me "I'm a smart woman and I can't remember where I left my pen 10 minutes ago."
I miss Mom so much but I know she is at peace. She is no longer sad and frustrated because she can't find the right words for her thoughts, live at home, be afraid to go to the store because she's afraid she'll get lost, or take care of herself or others.
This year is six years since she passed, but I can still hear her say "Hey Ter, what's up? or Hey Mr. Bill (that's what we called my Dad), we're home!"
Sadly, too many of us are living with the impact Alzheimer's has had on our loved ones.....Mom, Grandpa, Dave, Marge, Walter, and so many others.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Don't forget to maximize your donation by submitting for a company match - Alzheimers Disease And Related Disorders Association Inc., 225 N. Michigan Ave., Ste. 1700, Chicago, IL 60601 and please note it is for Terry Snare's 2020 fundraising.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you and me.
Love, Terry
