My Dad, Franklin Williams, Sr., passed away in September 2020 at the age of 88. He lived a Full life. He served in the Army for 20 years as an engineer. He spent the next 20 years working as a civil engineer in Baltimore. He and my mom, Elinor, raised 5 children!
Unfortunately, my Dad spent the last few years of his life with severe dementia. He could not engage in a conversation. It was very hard to see him mentally decline. The more I talk about it, the more people I meet who are going through the same thing. The more I educate myself, the more hope I have that a cure is possible.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
