I walk because Alzheimer’s has been in my family since I was a little kid. I remember going to the nursing home for over 14 years each week to see my great aunt Marie. It was a slow death, and a memory I will never forget.
Since then, my grandpa’s other siblings have passed away from Alzheimer’s and then my grandpa Welle passed away in 1994. It keeps spreading through my family. I come from a large family. My dad has nine kids in his family, so we have a lot of reasons to walk, 67 reasons to be exact and that number is always growing!!!!
In February of 2019 I lost my uncle Roger to Alzheimer’s. When Roger was diagnosed my family started walking and I joined the walk committee to help do whatever I can to end this and not watch another family go through this.Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
