Welcome to Do It 4 Donna's walk page! This is my 5th year and I am continuing to walk in honor of my grandma, Donna. This is my #1, top priority to CONTINUE on my bucket list, to walk for Donna. I walked for the 1st time in 2017 and did the 3 mile walk. I walked in 2018 and faced heat exhaustion in 90+ degree heat! In 2019 I battled Thyroid Cancer & continued helping to plan the Walk by being on the Logistics Committee and volunteering for the Street Team and in 2020 we have all braved COVID and the walk was EVERYWHERE!
I am so proud to walk in my grandma's honor. My grandma played a huge role in raising me and helping me become the person I am today. She gave me unconditional love and was always there for me. She was also there for my boys, Alek and Derek. We had a VERY special bond grandma and I. Donna was so special and words cannot describe the LOVE I have for her or the emptiness I feel inside at losing her to Alzheimer's. What I wouldn't give for just one more hug from her but, I can't have one more hug, because Alzheimer's took her away from me!!! and from my boys!
Please help me continue to honor one of the most important people in my life.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's and Thank You for helping me honor my grandma Donna.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
