It's 2021, and I am stepping up again this year to participate in the annual Alzheimer's Walk. For me this battle is personal, as my Mom had dementia. Watching the progression of this disease and the effect it had on my Mom, and my family, is something I never want anyone to have to experience. This year, I am again ramping up my commitment to this walk. While I have been involved with this walk for several years , and last year, served on the Planning Committee, in 2021, I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve as Chairman of this committee.
The Walk to End Alzheimer's is happening. Over the course of the last year, Alzheimer's has continued to spread and grow across the country and the world. The threat of Alzheimer's hasn't been put on hold. Alzheimer's is a progressive and fatal disease and the 6th leading cause of death in the US. Last year it killed more people than from breast and prostate cancer combined. The Alzheimer's Association. as the leading volunteer health organization in Alzheimer's care, provides education and support to the millions who face Alzheimer's every day, while advancing research toward treatment, prevention and, one day, a cure.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
