Thank you for taking the time to read my story below and why I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My father's battle began in 2009 with a simple visit to the doctor's office to talk about some memory issues. We knew that things weren't perfect, but we had no idea the journey that we were beginning. Over the next seven years, our lives changed dramatically, and all of his loved ones were affected significantly. In 2016, he lost his battle with the disease. When he passed, we not only lost a father, but also a beloved husband, grandfather, and friend to many.
Every day we miss his sense of humor and his fun-loving nature. He was a person who never met a stranger and loved life.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation and/or join my walk team to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
