Supporting my walk efforts helps fund Alzheimer's research and local programs. Local programs made the Alzheimer's medications affordable for my grandparents and helped us get supplies we needed when additional funding was available. The Alzheimer's Association was a resource...the website valuable as we entered stages or encountered a challenge. Our local Association offered classes and support groups, some we took advantage of and others we would have. We knew the Alzheimer's Association would be there for every question or issue or how do we manage...it was more than a resource...at times it was a glimmer of hope that we would manage and get through this.
I'm helping reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
