Many of you know the story of my family's long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. My mom was diagnosed with early onset at age 62. It was a painful, slow loss of the woman who was my best friend, confidant, advise giver and grandma to my kids. Little did I know that this disease would also rob me of my dad. As a caregiver for over 7 years, he watched the love of his life leave piece by piece, and the stress was enormous as she progressed. He was diagnosed with an aggressive stomach cancer in May of 2014 and passed away in September that same year.
That left my siblings and I to find the right home for my mom, which taught me more about Memory Support than I ever wanted to know. We had 4 moves in 4 years to find the right fit for mom, and sadly she was only there for less than a year when she passed away.
This is a passion for me both personally and professionally, and I appreciate all of the support of family and friends both near and far away.
