I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®!
My Mom, Renee', was always an outgoing, vibrant ray of sunshine with the best smile and sparkling blue eyes. She was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's in 2012, at the young age of 50. Watching little pieces of her slowly fade away left me feeling completely helpless. This disease not only took my Mom, but affected every member of my family in a profound way. She passed away in December of 2019, just 2 days after her 57th birthday.
Between 2000 and 2019, deaths from Alzheimer's have increased 145%. Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Alzheimer's kills more than breast and prostate cancer COMBINED. If you haven't already been personally affected, with the way things are going you WILL be.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease! I'll be attending the Kansas City Walk to End Alzheimer's on 10/3/2021. Please consider joining my team and walking beside me in honor of my Mom.
Additionally, please make a donation to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Every dollar raised benefits those affected by Alzheimer's disease in our community through support groups and a 24/7 helpline offering information and referrals. Your dollar also drives research toward treatment, prevention, and ultimately, a cure. Money raised also helps support the needs and rights of people affected by Alzheimer's through legislation and federal research funding.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
