This year, I am walking to honor my Godmother and aunt, Kay Sizelove. Aunt Kay is a gentle soul who always has a kind word or funny story to share. She has been a prominent female in my life, despite the miles that separate us. As a woman of strong faith and a former Catholic nun, I asked Aunt Kay to officiate my wedding in 2010. I so appreciated her presence and special role, as her sister, my mom, had already passed and she was a rock for me that day. Ten years has passed, and recently Aunt Kay has developed dementia. It breaks my heart to see what this disease has done to her, her husband, Phil and other relatives within our family. We must keep fighting to find the answer to this disease. We are on our way to one day live in world without Alzheimer's, but we need to raise the funds to do the research and FIND A CURE!
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
