Team Pou-Pou was formed 9 years ago to honor my Mother, known as Pou-Pou Yung to her grandkids and many others.
Our team consisting of family and friends not only walk for her but for the many other relatives and friends that are currently suffering from Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, as well as in memory of all of our loved ones that have already lost the fight to this thief of a disease.
This year we lost someone very special in our lives, a father figure to me and my siblings and "Grandpa" to our children and special friend to many. He was 96 and his long term memory was still great for his age but his short term memory was starting to fade. He was a great story teller and remembered details that many others would have long forgotten. When Paul would see my Mom and try to have a conversation with her, of course it was one sided and that made him sad along with the fact that she could no longer remember him or recognize any of her kids. He did not want others to have to experience that loss and supported this important cause because he knew how precious memories are.
Thank you for supporting our team and making a difference in the lives of those impacted by Alzheimer's disease and all forms of dementia.
