15 years ago, my family created a team, Fred's Forget-Me-Nots, when we lost my Grandpa Grace to Alzheimer's. 15 years ago, we lost my sweet Grandma Haas to Alzheimer's. My Grandpa was so brave, as he battled this disease for 10 years. We were fortunate, that his memories were just starting to gradually fade. My Grandma's memories faded much quicker, which was very hard. They both taught me the importance of family, the importance of love, and the importance of taking care of those we love.
They are so close to finding a cure to this disease that takes away our loved ones much too soon. Each year we gather, raise funds, and honor their memories and everyone's memories lost to this terrible disease. My family has raised over $185,000 in the past 14 years for the Alzheimer's Association and we are committed to raising awareness and more funds for Alzheimer research, care and support. We need your support to do our part! Please consider joining our team, Fred's Forget-Me-Nots. Or making a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about my family and our team. I'm so proud that we are able to sponsor the Bloomington, IL walk. I know my Grandpa Grace and Grandma Haas are looking down on us and are so proud. I thank you, and my family thanks you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with us.
