My mom, Kris Bell, struggled with Alzheimer's for over 10 years until her mind and body could no longer fight.
Kris passed away on January 7, 2021 and our entire family misses her every day.
Kris spent the last several years of her life at Grandview Alzheimer's Special Care Center. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, we had limited interactions with her for most of 2020. Fortunately, we were able to spend time with her in the days before she died.
Our family's first-hand experience with Alzheimer's has been an emotional and heartbreaking journey and we are determined to do our part to find a cure.
In the United States someone develops Alzheimer’s every 65 seconds and more than 5 million Americans are living with the disease. There is no cure. There are more than 16 million caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias in the United States.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Our family is pleased to partner with Grandview Guys and Gals to raise money for this year's Peoria Walk to End Alzheimer's. We will be walking as a family as part of this year's event - and the mission remains more important than ever.
I would be grateful if you would make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. I truly appreciate your consideration.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
