I walk to end Alzheimer's in memory of my Grandpa Jack and in honor of my parents and Grandma, Bertha who were his caretakers. Grandpa was diagnosed with dementia and entered a journey of hospitalizations, stints of living in locked nursing home units, and confusion about why all of this was happening. We visited a neurologist who helped us better understand the negative impact some of his medications were having and provided my grandpa nearly 2 years of a better quality of life. Understanding how to care for him was possible because the Alzheimer's Association provided tools and information in a moment of time when we were lost, broken hearted and had no idea what to do next. Help us end this disease and provide support to patients and caregivers so they do not suffer alone.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
