On October 16th, my sorority, Sigma Kappa, and I joining together to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation to help, so we together, can end Alzheimer’s disease.
A close friend (shown in the picture to the right) of mine lost her grandfather due to Alzheimer's a few years ago. I grew up knowing her and her family and became very close with them. Watching what they had to endure while her grandfather was fighting Alzheimer's was heartbreaking. Being able to participate in this walk and honor him and their family is something very important to me. They are like my second family and they mean the world to me.
Not only did my best friend and her family lose someone due to Alzheimer's, but one of my family members lost their grandma to it as well. It tore my heart strings to see those I love losing someone so important to them.
The Walk to End Alzheimer's means more than just fundraising money to me. It means making a difference in finding more research to help those in the future. No one deserves to endure the pain that comes with watching a loved one forget them. No one deserves to lose those they love.
Now let's help make a difference! Any support is appreciated. I would love for you all to be with me through this journey.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
