This walk and bringing awareness is so near and dear to my heart. This will be the 10th year I have participated in the Alzheimer's Walk. Mom was diagnosed in 2011 with a combination of Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia. And she has progressed much more this past year with more confusion, anxiety and agitation. But she still has her beautiful smile. This is the hardest thing I have ever experienced, watching my Mom change every day with this disease slowly taking her away. We desperately need more funding for research in finding a cure. There are no survivors from this disease.
