The 2020 Atlanta Walk will look different this year as the Alzheimer's Association continues to monitor CDC guidelines and recommendations. Alzheimer's isn't waiting! Neither am I! I am moving forward with fundraising to make an impact on funding research with the goal "to see a world without Alzheimer's and other Dementia". My Promise Garden bouquet holds 7 purple flowers and 2 blue ones for my Aunt Muriel and my friend's mother who have moderate-stage Dementia. Three of my family members have passed away from Alzheimer's, including my Uncle Carroll "Ki" Simmons who was a 1st chair French Hornist with the Chicago Symphony. Our dear family friend's grandmother Halina Jones lost her battle with Alzheimer's a year ago. Two Sigma Kappa sisters just lost their sisters to Alzheimer's and Dementia. A neighbor lost her mother to Alzheimer's. On 9/26, I will be putting on my new Alzheimer's walking shoes and walking in a small group of Sigma Kappa sisters observing social distancing.
Together, we can lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor. Join my Team to walk or make a secure tax-deductible donation to My Walk Page to advance the care, awareness, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
