Hi everyone, I'm Radhika! I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. My grandma, Sabita Sanyal, developed Alzheimer's disease 11 years ago and passed away in 2017 after a long and challenging battle. She was a fighter, and so in her memory, I walk to end Alzheimer's. I saw firsthand the devastating effects of this disease while taking care of my grandma. Not only did it impair her ability to perform daily tasks like eating and dressing by herself, but I also saw how much it strained my parents who were her primary caregivers.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. With the COVID-19 pandemic hitting nursing homes and memory care facilities even harder, patients affected with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia need our help more than ever! Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please consider donating to support the care, assistance, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
