"Cherish every moment with those you love at every stage of your journey." These words could not be more clear to Joe and I over the past year. We have learned the true meaning of patience and have fully realized that life is the most precious gift of all. We remind each other daily that, "we were given this life because we are strong enough to live it".
For those who do not know, Joe's grandmother passed away last May and our "newlywed phase" quickly shifted into full responsibility mode for Grandpa's care. It has been an absolute blessing in disguise to have the opportunity to spend so much time together. Grandma's last wish to us was to "take care of grandpa" and we promised her we would.
Joe and I have witnessed first hand the ups and downs of this devastating disease and the way it takes away the joy of these individual's memories and life's work. Because of this, we have decided to do something bigger than ourselves. We will be walking to #ENDALZ on November 13th down here in Naples and have formed our team, "Coach Piggy". If you are in the SWFL area and would like to join our team or feel like giving to an incredible Association, we would love for you to join us.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, we are raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Sending love & strength to everyone who knows someone who is dealing or has dealt with this <3 You are not alone.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
