One of the hardest things to do is to grieve the loss of a person who is still alive. Alzheimer's is a progressive disease that robs a person from their memories and destroys their personality. It is a devastating disease for the sufferer and the families. Nothing could hurt more than having a parent who doesn't recognize you anymore. I walk to honor my dad but I also walk as a thank you to my mom who cared for him at home. There is currently no cure - but there is a worldwide effort to to find better ways to treat the disease and delay its onset. Please join me in this journey to end this disease!
