Dear Family and Friends,
When we rang in 2020 in January, I had no idea this year would be the one to remember for a long time. So much is happening right now and I sincerely hope this message finds you well and healthy!
I wanted to let you know that I am still involved with the Alzheimer's Association raising awareness about the disease. This is my second year fundraising for the Walk to End Alzheimer's!
With COVID-19, the format of the walk is different this year. I would like to invite you to walk with me virtually on October 3rd through your own neighborhood, favorite park, trail, beach or mall with your family and friends complying with your local face mask and social distancing guidance of course :-) Please wear something purple that day!
More than ever, I am inspired to do more to make a difference in the journey. More than ever, I need your support to help this dedicated team take a step closer to finding a cure for this global disease everyday. I know I am competing for your donation money with many other great causes and would be honored if I can earn your donation again this year. Below is my story to earn your donation:
18 years ago, I watched helplessly as my mother disappeared from me with each passing day. When words began to escape my mom and she started to become confused in everyday tasks, I came face-to-face with a devastating disease I knew so little about: Alzheimer's disease.
My mom passed away eventually from complications associated with dementia. I didn’t know much about dementia then and still don’t know much about it now. But I know it can take away what's most precious of one's existence - our memories and our sense of self! It can devastate people who love us! It can kill!
I got involved in this cause when my colleague hosted a Brain Health talk at work two years ago to spread the awareness of Alzheimer’s disease. I am so glad he did because now I am part of this journey to help fight this horrible disease.
I'm committed to raising awareness and raising funds to support Alzheimer's education, research and cure. I am participating in medical research project and volunteering for the San Diego Walk to End Alzheimer's marketing committee. I would be so grateful if you would join me or sponsor me. You can help in two ways:
1. Join me in the fight against Alzheimer's by walking with me virtually
2. Help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation on my Fundraising Page. http://act.alz.org/site/TR?fr_id=13318&pg=personal&px=16219893
Let’s start now to end Alzheimer's.
I would love for you to share my post on social media to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
