I am more urgently raising awareness and donations for Alzheimer’s. Last Saturday, Nancy, my mother, was hospitalized with a brain injury due to a fall associated with this disease. She is being released today, but under 24 hour watch for a time period. This disease is relentless.
This is the second year I am walking for my mom Nancy and the 5 million suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s. I am so grateful for the support last year from friends and family and hope you can find a way to be generous again. You may know that Nancy was diagnosed several years ago and is now living in a memory care facility in Oceanside, CA. It simply breaks my heart to see the cognitive changes this disease has caused to my mother first hand over the years. The simple things have become difficult. That being said, Nancy still loves to make people laugh, dance, drink a glass of wine, talk about Turner Camp and share pictures of family.
The number of people diagnosed with Alzheimers is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. We need to change the course of this devastating disease and find a cure!
Together we can help advance the care, support and research efforts of Alzheimer’s Association.
