Hi, I'm Cara.
My amazingly kind, smart, humble, strong, loving, funny father lost his fight with early on-set Alzheimer's last year. I'm walking in support of an organization that I have relied on for guidance and support and helped me find the best path possible to support my family on this journey.
Once again, I'm dedicating my Walk to my warrior mother- who was my dad's caregiver. She now cares for my grandma, her mom who has dementia. Her patience, resilience, and unconditional love blows me away. I am grateful for her everyday, so I walk to celebrate her and all caregivers out there fighting what can sometimes feel like an impossible fight- YOU ARE NOT ALONE! My hope is in bringing awareness of the support and tools available to everyone we can provide hope while we fight for a future without Alz.
I'm also walking to help raise awareness and funds to support the research needed to change the coarse of this disease.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
