In September of 2016, 8 amazing actresses began rehearsing for the show Calendar Girls. It was two weeks after I had moved my mother into assisted living as her Dementia had advanced too far for her to be safe at home. These women were my rocks during this difficult time, and we have all become lifelong friends, much like the characters in the show.
In 2020 another of our Calendar Girls was facing the same situation with her mom. Karen's mom Loretta Welch is one of the kindest people I know. Her love of theater and her love of life is infectious. Sadly she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's not that long ago. We love her dearly and have been so saddened by how quickly her disease has advanced.
In 2020 we dedicated our team to Loretta. In 2021 we'll continue to walk for her, Karen, and the rest of her family, as well as for loved ones we have lost. We walk for all who are affected by this disease.
Join the Calendar Girls this October as we walk to help find a cure for Alzheimer's and ALL Dementia.
This year, Walk is Everywhere. Won't you join us and walk in October to honor Loretta and all those fighting the fight.
You don't have to be a Calendar Girl to walk with us, you become an honorary one when you join the team!
