Hello family, friends, and colleagues,
As many of you know, supporting the work of the Alzheimer’s Association is personal to me and I am passionate about finding a cure for the disease.
In February 2020, we lost our beloved Kai after he battled the disease for over a decade. While Kai passed in 2020, the Kai that we knew and loved left us years ago due to the ravages that Alzheimer’s has on one’s brain. The last time I saw Kai late in 2019, he was a shell of the man that was once a loving husband, doting uncle and grandfather, and the most genuine friend you can wish for in a brother-in-law.
Kai, and millions of others have missed out on a cure. So in the meantime, as we wait for further advances and a cure, I am passionate about helping those afflicted with the terrible disease and providing resources for those that are caregivers to, or living with, someone with Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association is the one stop place for those affected by all forms of dementia, and of course, Alzheimer’s Disease.
Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease and right now 6 million Americans are living with it. It is the sixth leading cause of death in the US. It takes a terrible toll on the caregivers because it is truly a thankless job. I’m proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association as a Board Member in the Northern California chapter and for 9 years Lisa and I have supported the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year’s walk is October 16th in downtown San Jose. Your support of me in the walk will help to fund research, advocacy at the local, state, and federal level and resources for those living with the disease.
