VOLUNTEERS needed to help with a Live Promise Flower Garden
The idea for a live Promise Flower Garden started in 2020 when Brett Watson, City of Arcata Vice Mayor, suggested that the city would enjoy a Live Promise Garden. In 2021, he offered us two corner garden spots on the Arcata Plaza to plant. The city staff who are helping are Mike Rice and Wes Crandall. They will remove the current garden bed plants and get us ready for planting. Rex Maillie, Manager at Mad River Gardens, has offered to donate the plants and help plan the garden design.
We need volunteers to help with installation and to adopt a month for garden tending. Once a week duty would include pulling weeds, watering the garden, and checking the signage. To sign up for a month or for more information, contact Joanne Conzelmann at firstname.lastname@example.org or 707-599-2777.
Thank you to the City of Arcata and Mad River Gardens Nursery for their generous support.
