The 1st time I participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's was with my grandfather in 2010.
The picture is of my grandfather and my Grandma Ruth celebrating what would be her last birthday before Alzheimer's claimed her life. My grandfather painfully watched Alzheimer's change her into a completely different person physically, mentally, & emotionally.
She is the 1st reason I started raising money and participating in the Walk to End ALZ. Unfortunately, she is no longer the only reason.
I am optimistic that a cure for ALZ will be found while I'm still alive-I have to hold out hope since I have a high chance of early onset as well.
Please consider joining my team, making a small donation, or participating in your local Walk to End ALZ.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my efforts for the last 11 years. I am humbled and grateful.
