I have walked side by side with my Mom for many years with this terrible disease. The past year of the pandemic and the resulting isolation has taken a toll on my Mom and many others just like her. I have recently been allowed to visit with her again. The very first time I was allowed to touch her, she grasp my hand and wouldn't let go. It is clear this disease has advanced, but there are still some times where I know that she feels my love for her and I feel her love for me.
I am blessed by friends like you who have walked beside me in the journey. I have felt your love, prayers and support.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
