Alzheimer's and all other dementia are amongst the most tragic diseases that families experience today. There is currently no treatment or cure. In the U.S., more than 6 million families are battling this disease. It is a heartbreaking and extremely difficult journey, made even more so in the past year during the pandemic.
That's why in 2020 we developed the Purple Dream Team. We want to help find a cure and show our care and love to those in need. We will be putting on our sneakers and walking in Santa Barbara's Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's on November 6, 2021.
Our goal is to raise awareness and funds to help the Alzheimer's Association care for local families with support groups and education programs; accelerate global research; and advocate on the state and federal level for more help. We are also walking to honor those experiencing the disease and their caregivers as well as in memory of those that have tragically had their lives taken by this horrific disease.
Many members of the Purple Dream Team have a very personal story because they have lost or are currently caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's.
Would you please join us with a donation or as a participant of our team?
