I know from experience the challenges Alzheimer's and other dementias bring to my dear friends, their precious families and our community. Currently, more than 94,000 individuals in Alabama live with Alzheimer's, and a staggering 304,000 family members and friends provide care to those loved ones. Over 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
