Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
My team is walking in honor of those individuals who are on this journey with dementia. I am especially concerned about the growing numbers of persons I see at the Memory Clinic who are younger than 60 years old and are given a diagnosis of a dementia related illness. The persons with the disease and their families/ care partners are taking this unexpected and unwanted journey. They show strength and courage and I applaud them. My hope and desire is to see that the younger generations of these families and others can have a future where the words "Alzheimer's and dementia" are only a memory.
Once again I put out a challenge this year asking family and friends to help me raise at least $2000. Once that is achieved, I have pledged to dye my hair purple and post it on Facebook. I would love to exceed the goal of a $2000. So please help me see purple - in the mirror and see a future without Alzheimer's.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
