I will WALK to End Alzheimer's
In honor of my incredible MOM - Patti Holmes
Everyone's journey with Alzheimer's or any form of dementia is a unique one, but all include fear & frustration, and test all those involved to step up to a challenge that is impossible to prepare for.
My Mom's journey (and therefore our family's journey) with this disease began when Mom was in her early sixties, over 15 years ago. At that time, much fear surrounded this disease, and obtaining a diagnosis was frustrating.
I believe in supporting the Alzheimer's Association because of the important work they do to combat this fear & frustration. They not only equip patients and their caregivers with tools to reduce the fears, but they are also striving to eliminate the frustration of obtaining a dignified diagnosis. This is something I know would have made a major difference in my Mom's journey with this disease.
So that is why I WALK for the Alzheimer's Association in honor of my extraordinary Mom - Patti Holmes - who we lost too soon to this disease.
It is our family's 9th year of participating in the Walk to End. This year the walk will be different due to Covid-19. We will all be walking in our own neighborhoods, however I believe it is more important than ever to raise awareness and funds for this disease during these unprecedented times. So, I urge you to please consider contributing to the cause of combatting fear & frustration by joining our team and walking on September 19th or by donating to the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you most sincerely for your consideration & support,
Amy Holmes Molepske
