My grandmother, Florence Clifford, begrudgingly went by the knickname "Toodles". She was a passionate and talented woman who made it through some extraordinary obstacles in her life. Through all of the pain, you could see her smile reflected in her beautiful (and often mischievous) twinkling eyes. Alzheimer's was one of her worst fears, and it sadly took hold of her last few years on this earth. She is the reason that my family will proudly walk as "Team Toodles" this September. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with us.
