During this most unprecedented time, I am hesitant to ask for donations. Yet, I see story after story of how COVID-19 is impacting those with dementia at a rate and level that needs immediate attention and focus. I still see friends and neighbors struggling as they face a diagnosis. This disease has not stopped because of a new pandemic. If anything, it is causing more havoc and destruction in the Alzheimer's world.
I have seen first hand the amazing work the Alzheimer's Association does. First, we were the beneficiaries of this support system, including guidance and education as our family struggled after Jim was diagnosed with Younger Onset Alzheimer's. They were with us every step of the way, as he declined and our family faced his loss. I have now made helping others as they fight this battle my life's work. With businesses shutting down and donations slowing (understandably), we are facing a new battle to fund our mission. I have lost count of the stories and the invaluable support and help provided by the most caring and giving staff I have been blessed to work with. I wholeheartedly am amazed by the behind the scenes effort and true care that I see daily not only by our staff, but by our volunteers. We need your help!! Please give any amount you can to help continue our path to the first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
