I have been walking to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association for over 12 years in support of my mother. Last year I was the #1 fundraiser for the Richmond Walk and I want to be in the top 5 again! Really, I would love to be #1 in 2019!
I walk in memory of my mother, Lois, who led a wonderful life. She lost her life at the age of 91 and suffered from the disease for about 7 years. She knew she could not remember what she had for lunch or what she did an hour ago in activities, but thankfully she had a positive attitude and trusted that I was taking care of her along with the help of my wonderful daughter, Afton. We are so thankful that she willingly relied on us and the wonderful caregivers she had to get her to the right place, at the right time and do what she's supposed to do, including showing everyone how to do the jitterbug!
I need your support to help find an end to this disease! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
