Our Goal

The world may look a little different right now, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to ending Alzheimer’s. This year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is everywhere — on every sidewalk, track and trail.

Your health and safety are our top priorities. This year’s event won’t be a large in-person gathering — instead, we invite you to walk in small teams of friends and family while others in your community do the same. Because we are all still walking and fundraising for the same thing: a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

Where is my Walk T-shirt?

All Walkers are encouraged to raise funds through December 31st. Did you miss the 10/3 deadline to earn your shirt by Walk Day? Don't worry shirt orders are being pulled October 1, November 1 and January 1 and shipped directly to you! You have 3 more opportunities to receive your shirt.

What about my Donors-do they get a Walk T-shirt?

All walkers must be registered, and those registered who raise $100 or more by 12/31 will receive a shirt. If you had a donor of $100+ and they are not registered, unfortunately they will not receive a shirt.

Where are we meeting?

We are not gathering as a large group this year. We encourage you to Walk Everywhere, with whomever you are comfortable with, wherever you are comfortable. Then you can drive by our View-Only Promise Garden, which will be up from 9:00am- 2:00pm Saturday at 6610 W. Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23222.

What do I do on Walk Day?

Log on at 9:30am to watch our Opening Ceremony (or view on demand), throw on your purple gear or 2020 Walk T-shirt and raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease as you turn every sidewalk, trail and treadmill purple. Take lots of pictures and post to social media and share on the Richmond Walk to End Alzheimer’s Facebook Group. Keep asking for donations as we strive to get a boost in fundraising on Walk Day. Lastly, check out our View-Only Promise Garden, which will be up from 9:00am- 2:00pm Saturday at 6610 W. Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23222. Log onto the Opening Ceremonies here.

What if it rains Saturday?

If you are rained in, it's the perfect chance to cozy up and watch our inspiring Opening Ceremony at 9:30am. The beauty of Walk is Everywhere- is we can also walk anytime! You can walk anytime that weekend or this month to help raise critical awareness and funds for Alzheimer's disease!
